Two new video integrations and trade still bring together creation, production and conversion

This edition highlights two recent announcements that directly concern creators: Google improves the control of the generative video and YouTube integrates Amazon into its affiliate program. A third signal also confirms the gradual arrival of advertising in ChatGPT in Europe, including France.

Our method: distinguishing facts, citing sources and calmly explaining what can really change for creators, independent and digital professionals.

Google launches Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash with enhanced video control

Released on 27 August, Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash becomes available to developers through the Gemini API, Google AI Studio and Agent Platform. The model can extend a scene by analysing up to 10 seconds of context, generate transitions between a first and a last image, accept video references and produce output up to 4K. Google also offers 360p previews that are up to 60 % faster and three times cheaper than standard 720p generation, according to the company. Access is also announced in Google Flow and the Gemini app for Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers.

What it can change: Designers can test their video concepts faster, better maintain the continuity of a character or scene and reserve the 4K for the final version. However, check the access conditions and the actual cost before integrating the model into a production workflow.

YouTube adds Amazon to its Shopping affiliate program

YouTube announced on 27 August that Amazon joins its YouTube Shopping Affiliate program. Eligible creators in the United States can now identify Amazon products directly in their Shorts, long videos and livestreams, and then receive a commission on qualified purchases. Integration brings together the recommendation, the discovery of the product and the purchase, instead of relying solely on a link placed in the description. The scheme remains limited to eligible creators in the United States, including access to YouTube's partner programs and Shopping as well as an active Amazon Influencer or Associates account.

What it can change: The product recommendation becomes a native part of the video experience. For French creators, the ad must be monitored: it shows that platforms are seeking to further transform content into an integrated sales path, which reinforces the importance of a clear offer and well-structured links.

ChatGPT Ads must extend to 31 European markets, including France

OpenAI announced the 18 August the extension of ChatGPT Ads to 31 European markets, including France, Germany, Spain and Italy. The ads are intended for users of Free and Go offers, while Plus, Pro and Enterprise subscriptions remain unadvertised. OpenAI also indicates working on geographic targeting, custom audiences, conversion optimization and measurement via OpenAI Pixel and API Conversions. The advertisement describes a gradual opening and does not mean that all accounts or advertisers immediately have the same access.

What it can change: The discovery of products and services can gradually shift to conversations where users express their intention directly. Independents and creators must therefore work on the clarity of their positioning, their proofs and their conversion pages, not just buy visibility.
