Setting up my assistant's frameworkThe short answer
AI guide
There is no blanket permission or single disclosure for all AI uses. Check three things: the tool's terms, rights relating to data and people, then information owed to the audience. Law and platform rules may both apply.
These guideposts distinguish the status of a rule; 'Pause and check' calls for review before acting.
Your pre-publication compass
The tool
Licence, account and intended use.
The rights
People, works and data.
The audience
Disclosure, context and honesty.
From rule to practice
What does that look like in practice?
Proofread your own draft
No sensitive data, no invented claims.
Review the result and context. Not all writing assistance triggers the same legal disclosure.
Make a real person speak
A recognisable voice or face is imitated.
Check rights, appropriate consent, presentation and platform rules before release.
Promote a brand with an avatar
The content is a commercial collaboration.
Check advertising disclosures, virtual images and evidence for claims.
Start with your use, not the tool's name
You can use AI to explore ideas, prepare a draft or build an illustration. What matters next is the actual content, transmitted data, rights and how you present the result. Paid access does not settle all these questions.
These pages separate legal duties, platform rules and good practice. 'Pause and check' flags a case needing review before acting; this guidepost does not replace the chapter's detailed legal classification.
A France and European Union guide
These reference points mainly address creators, independent workers and small teams. They do not cover every medical, policing, banking or recruitment use. For a sensitive campaign, dispute or decision affecting a person's rights, seek professional analysis of your case.
Rules change, as do tool contracts. Check official links before a consequential decision. Each chapter lists its sources; a research report, recommendation and law do not have the same status.

Getting to the point
Questions people often ask.
Must I write 'AI-generated' on everything I publish?
No single rule covers every form of AI assistance. Content, your role, purpose and platform determine the duties. Start with the disclosure chapter.
Can I sell a creation made with AI?
It may be possible, but check the tool contract, third-party rights, commercial presentation and conditions for possible copyright protection. The selling chapter separates these checks.
Does an AI label make a deepfake authorised?
No. Transparency does not replace personal rights, criminal rules or the prohibition on deception. Some content remains prohibited even with a disclosure.
