Agents on Mac, Digital Doubles and Copyright: three safeguards to integrate now

Apple's announcement 2 october brings the novelty of the latest 24 hours. We complete it with two official dossiers that are still immediately useful: a global campaign that recreates Greta Garbo with the agreement of its rightholders and a European consultation open to creators until 3 november.

Our method: distinguishing facts, citing sources and calmly explaining what can really change for creators, independent and digital professionals.

Apple will strengthen full disk access authorization for Mac applications

Apple announces future additional controls so that an application can only get full disk access after a very explicit user action. This permission can expose files, emails, messages and browsing history; Apple points out that the risk increases with more autonomous AI agents. The measure is aimed at macOS worldwide, but the company does not yet specify any version of the system or date of deployment: it is therefore an announced change, not an already active protection.

What it can change: On your Mac, check now System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Drive Access. Withdraw this permission from assistants and applications who do not need it.

SKF recreated Greta Garbo by IA with the agreement of his family and successors

SKF launched a global campaign featuring a production of Greta Garbo, more than a century after its first appearance in a promotional film related to Swedish industry. The brand confirms that it has developed the initiative with the actress's family and Harriet Brown & Company, which manages its legacy. Reuters states that the image was produced from prompts, while an authorized recording was used for the voice. This case shows that an agreement on image, voice and diffusion remains essential even when the rendering is synthetic.

What it can change: Before generating the double of a real person, separately formalizes rights to the name, image, voice, archives used, territories, duration and re-use of advertising.

European Commission consults creators on AI and copyright

The European Commission collects until 3 november 2026 contributions from rights holders, AI providers, intermediaries, collective management bodies and other relevant stakeholders. The consultation includes the use of works protected by AI systems, the fight against piracy and possible additional European measures. This is not yet a new rule: this phase must document difficulties and options before possible decisions can be made.

What it can change: If your content has been reused, difficult to remove or impossible to trace, collects dated examples and transmits them directly or through a professional organisation before 3 November.
