Two concrete changes to anticipate: the agent-driven purchase at Shopify and a Facebook algorithm that the audience can guide

The official announcements of the last 24 hours change two key points of the digital journey: how products can be discovered and purchased from an IA agent, and how users choose the topics recommended on Facebook. For creators and sellers, the clarity of catalogues and editorial themes becomes even more strategic.

Our method: distinguishing facts, citing sources and calmly explaining what can really change for creators, independent and digital professionals.

Shopify opens search, cart and payment Shop Pay to MCP-compatible agents

Shopify launched Shop MCP on 13 October. A connection allows a compatible agent to search for more than one billion products in Shopify Catalog, open the cards, build a basket and create a payment. The search works without API key; a key remains proposed for higher usage limits. With a connected buyer, the agent can use the addresses and means of payment recorded in Shop Pay, but the order is only finalized after confirmation of the total and the means of payment by the buyer. The orders then normally appear in the merchant administration. Shopify states that there are no webhooks at the launch to track the status of the payment: developers have to ask. The actual availability of the payment depends on the store, the market and the Shop services supported.

What it can change: Check the quality of your titles, descriptions, variants, prices, stocks, delivery fees and return rules: an agent must be able to understand these data without human interpretation. If you are developing an integration, test the entire course and keep an explicit validation before payment.

Facebook deploys Your Algorithm to guide Feed and Reels in natural language

Meta announced on October 13 the deployment of Your Algorithm to Facebook. From the three-point menu, users can add or remove the themes they want to see in Feed and Reels. After choosing Interested or Not Interested in a publication, Facebook can also request an explanation in free text. Meta indicates that its systems combine these explicit requests with existing usage signals and adapt the recommendations in real time, including during the session. The deployment is announced as ongoing, with no detailed country-specific timetable; the presence of the function must therefore be verified account by account.

What it can change: Build series with the theme immediately identifiable and use a consistent vocabulary in the title, hang and content. The audience can now request more or less one subject, but conventional signals such as retention and engagement continue to count.
