Microsoft Ads: a new test, not a supposedly ready copy.

Importing a structure can save time. It validates neither measurement, network nor available demand. Treat a Microsoft launch as an independent test with its own costs and customers.

To explore additional Search demand when your offer, page and measurement are already clear. No channel is automatically cheaper or more profitable.

The journey to build
  1. NeedA person to help
  2. AdA verifiable promise
  3. PageA consistent answer
  4. ActionMeasurable success
  5. ContributionEconomics that work

Review the import before enabling

After a Google import, keep campaigns paused while reviewing budgets, bids, dates, geography, networks, URLs, assets and negatives. Check what was transferred or adapted. Understand scheduled synchronization so external changes do not overwrite your choices.

Separate Microsoft test spend from Google spend. Compare beyond CPC: cheaper clicks can convert less or produce less useful contacts.

Microsoft measurement validated for the final action

UET, Universal Event Tracking, supports visits and events used in conversion measurement. Prepare the tag and goal in Microsoft Advertising, then test the actual action and verify status. An active tag does not prove the goal counts sales correctly.

For affected users, configure required consent signals and respect their choice. Server transmission does not authorize ignoring it. Check values, currencies and unique actions, especially with multiple integrations.

Analyze demand received on this network

Read search terms, geography and available network segments in reports. Adjust negatives and pages according to observed intent. Do not assume volumes, profiles or results will match Google.

The launch plan

The launch plan

  1. Define the independent test

A clear offer, with Microsoft-specific spend and threshold.

  2. Import or build while paused

Check imported items and synchronization rules.

  3. Validate UET and the goal

Test the final action, consent, value and count, beyond tag presence.

  4. Review delivery and budget

Geography, language, networks, dates, bids, URLs and negatives.

  5. Compare business outcomes

After maturation, compare CPA, qualification and new-customer contribution.

Avoid

See mistakes before paying for them

Fictional examples. Corrections illustrate a method without guaranteeing an outcome.

An import launched without review

Avoid

Automatic import; default budgets and synchronization; immediate activation.

Why it blocks progress

An imported structure can contain choices unsuitable for the test and change later.

Build instead

Paused review, independent ceiling, checked settings and documented synchronization.

What it changes

You know which settings govern spending.

An active tag mistaken for correct measurement

Avoid

UET active: assume every sale is counted correctly.

Why it blocks progress

The tag may transmit visits while the final goal or event is misconfigured.

Build instead

Confirmed test purchase, verified goal, correct value and currency, duplicate checks.

What it changes

The useful action is validated end to end.

A cheaper CPC declared the winner

Avoid

€0.50 CPC versus €1 elsewhere: “Twice as profitable.”

Why it blocks progress

Without sale rate and contribution, click price cannot support that conclusion.

Build instead

Compare customer costs, quality, returns and contribution over comparable periods.

What it changes

The channel is assessed on actual economics.

Read these indicators together

Queries and networks
Check available segments and relevance of actual demand.
CPA per customer
Reconcile attributed conversions with collected sales.
Import status
Check errors, differences and effects of scheduled synchronization.

Put it into practice

A Google import is complete and all campaigns are available to enable.

What should come before delivery?

See the reasoning

Review settings while paused, check synchronization, test UET and the final goal, then validate Microsoft’s own ceiling. An import prepares a structure; it does not certify the test.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import Google Ads and deliver immediately?

Import can accelerate preparation, but review remains necessary: budgets, bids, geography, networks, destinations, conversion tracking and synchronization. Keep the test paused until validated.

Is Microsoft Ads always cheaper than Google?

No. Costs and quality vary by demand and offer. Even lower CPC does not guarantee better CPA or contribution.
