THE VIFLY GUIDE · CHOOSE AN ACTIVITY
Monetise expertise that helps people decide or make progress.
Support sells when you help someone move forward with a problem you genuinely understand. Credibility comes from your skills, a clear framework and results described without exaggeration.
A clear offer.
An identified client.
Verifiable expertise in the stated subject
Include sessions, preparation, a written summary and follow-up.
BEFORE YOU START
Is this the right model
for you?
Trust and recommendations can come before a large audience.
An option to explore if.
You have relevant experience, know how to ask questions and can explain your method. You are willing to recognise the limits of your work and refer people to a qualified professional when necessary.
- Verifiable expertise in the stated subject
- Listening and defining a realistic objective
- A framework for your work and managing boundaries
Hold off for now if…
Avoid this model if you want to sell a transformation you cannot support. Calling yourself a coach does not authorise medical, psychological, legal, financial or other reserved professional activities.
- Costs to plan for
- Video call equipment and simple tools; qualifications and insurance depend on the activity.
- Stock and delivery
- No stock; limited appointment slots and available energy.
A CLIENT, A NEED, A DELIVERABLE
What exactly can you sell?
Example offers to adapt to your skills. None of these formats guarantees demand or a sale.
A communication audit
A self-employed professional whose offer is hard to understand.
A prepared interview, a review of materials and reasoned priorities; no promised number of customers.
Support with methods
A professional who wants to organise a process they already use more effectively.
A working objective, defined sessions, exercises and a review of the actions actually completed.
Presentation preparation
A person who needs to explain their project to a specific audience.
A review, rehearsal and structured feedback on the message; no guarantee of selection or funding.
FIND BUYERS BEFORE PRODUCING EVERYTHING
Where can you find your
first clients?
An audience is just one possible channel. A useful conversation with the right person often teaches you more than an untargeted post.
Make your experience observable
Publish a useful analysis or a demonstration of your method. Explain your exact role in the projects you mention and obtain permission before using a testimonial or customer case study.
Speak to the relevant audience
Identify recurring questions in your professional network. Ask how the problem is handled today and what would justify paying for support.
Prioritise relevant relationships
Build recommendations with professionals in complementary fields and take part in the places where your audience looks for answers. Useful public advice may lead to an enquiry; you still need to assess the person's needs.
Approach prospects with a relevant message and an easy opt-out. The rules differ by audience and channel: CNIL guidance ↗.
- 01
Define the problem
Choose an audience and a specific difficulty. Write down what you can help them do, prerequisites, exclusions and situations requiring a different professional skill.
- 02
Build a framework for a session
Describe duration, price, preparation, deliverables, confidentiality, cancellation and follow-up. Distinguish an initial assessment from a full programme so that the buyer understands the commitment.
- 03
Test a clearly scoped service
Offer an initial service using a method you have mastered. Gather the context before the session and finish with a few realistic actions the person can put into practice.
- 04
Measure the usefulness of follow-up
Ask what has been put into practice and what remains difficult. Adjust the format based on feedback; avoid imposing a subscription when a one-off intervention is enough.
GUIDANCE, NOT PROMISES
What the figures tell us.
And what they do not tell you.
Market data, a statistical income measure and your sales scenario measure different things. Always keep the period and population beside the figure. The suggested actions alongside them are our editorial analysis.

330 €median monthly business income for micro-entrepreneurs
Half of micro-entrepreneurs earn less than this amount, excluding zero incomes.
All occupations and working hours combined. This is neither turnover nor an online earnings target.
Read the source and its scope ↗We have not identified representative official national statistics that allow reliable comparisons of beginners' earnings from UGC, affiliate marketing, templates or subscription content. The simulator's amounts are therefore adjustable assumptions, rather than average earnings for these activities.
MAKE THE PROJECT'S ECONOMICS WORK
A sale does not become
your entire income.
Use the same period for every field: a pilot, a month or a launch. Start with sales actually received, after refunds and excluding VAT.

TEACHING EXAMPLE · NO GUARANTEED INCOME

- 900 €
- Balance after costs and reserve
- 605 €
- Balance per hour spent
- 27,50 €
Understand the starting example
Educational scenario with no forecast of demand: 10 sessions charged at 90 € generate 900 € in revenue. Subtracting 70 € in chosen costs and a fictional reserve of 225 €, calculated at 25 % of revenue, leaves an illustrative balance of 605 €. The 22 hours include sessions, preparation, follow-up and finding clients over the chosen period.
This balance is not net income for tax purposes. The calculation determines neither social contributions due, income tax nor VAT. It does not replace a complete budget or a check of your applicable regime.
Check the framework for my activity ↗An hour on a video call is not the whole workload. The reserve percentage is a hypothetical setting, not a social contribution or tax rate; the balance is not net disposable income.
THE POINTS THAT CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING
What is best avoided.
Do not use a protected title or make therapeutic promises without appropriate qualifications and a legal framework.
A selected testimonial does not prove that all customers will achieve the same result.
Plan for cancellations, lateness and limits on contact between sessions.
Collect only the information you need and arrange for its confidentiality and retention.

A professional framework
suited to your activity.
French guidance checked on the guide's verification date. The applicable regime depends on your profession, customers and circumstances; consult the sources and get help where needed.
Register and invoice
Choose the appropriate framework, check the formalities and organise quotes, invoices and payment tracking. Receiving payment online does not make the activity invisible.
Official procedures ↗Inform and respect the customer
Clarify the seller's identity, offer, price, deadlines and applicable rights. A digital product does not automatically exclude the right of withdrawal.
Online selling rules ↗Check the rules of the profession
Coaching does not remove the qualification requirements of a regulated activity. Vocational training has its own formalities; a platform does not create eligibility for funding.

QUESTIONS BEFORE CHOOSING
Straight answers.
Do I need certification to offer consulting?
It depends on the service and sector. Check whether the activity, specific acts or professional title are regulated; a private certification does not automatically authorise you to carry out a reserved activity.
What can an offer promise?
Describe the resources provided, deliverables and work objective. Avoid guaranteeing income, recovery, professional success or a transformation that depends on factors you cannot control.
Can I begin with individual sessions?
Yes, if you have mastered the subject and the framework for the service. This format lets you observe real difficulties before considering a workshop or a more structured resource.
